Who is RedRocket?

RedRocket is a new high-speed Internet service provided by RedZone Wireless, a Maine Internet Service Provider based in Rockland, ME.

What do I need to use RedRocket?

• Your computer and router must have 100BT ethernet.
• If you connect to your router wirelessly all wireless components (router and computer(s)) must be 802.11g, or 802.11n standard.
• If connecting wirelessly to your router you will only see RedRocket speeds if you have consistently strong 4-5 bars (out of a possible 5) of wireless signal strength.

Do I need a phone line?

No you do not need a phone line to use RedRocket. A RedRocket technician will install a small radio on your rooftop and run a data line from the radio into your home or business to connect to your router.

How is this service different than DSL or Cable Internet service?

• It's faster, up to 3x faster than cable, and 10x faster than DSL for downloads, and up to 500x faster for uploads.

• It's local. RedZone is a Maine company, so you'll deal with Maine folks for service and support.

How do I pay for service?

All billing is electronic, via debit, or credit card. No paper billing. No exceptions.

Do you provide email?

No, we are not in the mail business. We like to do one thing and do it well. You can get great free email from Google Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and other companies.

Will you be servicing my area?

That depends. If we have enough demand to support expansion, then yes. Completing the sign up! and telling your friends and neighbors to do the same will certainly help us to develop expansion plans.

Where can I use this service?

• In your home or business (25 Mbps upload / 25 Mbps download)
• At any open "REDZONE" WiFi hotspots in the local coverage area (reduced speeds when connecting via WiFi)

Is it secure?

Yes. The RedZone network is protected from unauthorized use and from malicious activity; however, RedZone does not police the Internet and cannot ensure your security while connected to the Internet. Protection of your computer system and files, whether you are accessing the internet through RedZone, or any other wired, or wireless broadband, or dial-up service, is your responsibility. There are certain measures that you can take to ensure your privacy and security. RedZone highly recommends that you conduct all internet-based transactions through secure socket (https://) connections and that you access your corporate network through a secure VPN. You should also subscribe to virus protection, and spyware/adware protection services from a reputable provider.

Do you offer Seasonal service? I would like to suspend my service for several months of the year.

No. We have no plans to offer seasonal RedRocket service.

Does RedRocket support VOIP/Internet Phone Service?

Certainly. You can subscribe to RedZone's broadband phone service, or bring your own VOIP from another provider.
